This set of ten A4 posters unpack some of the basic terms used to discuss the composition choices made by the composers of visual images in picture books, art works, advertising, magazines, web sites, apps and digital resources. The vocabulary covered in the pack are the terms: vectors, salient image, gaze, colour, reading path, framing and borders, shot size, perspective, background and lighting. These posters support the teaching of visual literacy as outlined in the Australian Curriculum English.
