These forms may assist teachers of students, in Kindergarten to year two, to track student reading  and differentiate the teaching of reading and writing to meet all students’ learning needs. The first form enables teachers to record text reading levels across the year and measure against reading goals for each grade level. The second form Assessment and goal setting can be used, by the class teacher or  all teachers on a grade, to moderate work samples or reading levels. By establishing goals for different times in the school year teachers can see who is working at, above or below the benchmark selected and by analysing a reading record or work sample teachers can engage in discussion to differentiate the learning to meet different learning needs.
