Hand a label to students to build sentences, place them on the floor and get students to step out their news/ recount/ retell, stick them on chairs to tell a sentence, leave them a visual reminder and anything else you can come up with.

$0.00Word towers are an easy way to have the high frequency words needed by a beginning writer easily accessible to them at their tables as they write. This A4 sheet is colour coded to assist students to quickly find words they need. It can be laminated, folded and taped together to form a ‘tower’ on the desk. Trim 1cm from left side of page and 0.5cm from right side of page before placing in a laminating pouch. This leaves a strip of laminate to fold and tape or staple to form the word tower.
