Modelled Reading Across the Grades

Explicit teaching is a key feature of instruction in primary classrooms.  This course aims to provide teachers with an example of explicit teaching in reading and viewing across K-6. The literacy resources model of Luke and Freebody is referenced as is the model of gradual release of responsibility.  These pedagogical theories are explained in a practical demonstration of modelled teaching for primary students. The references in the course come from the Australian Curriculum and the NSW English syllabus K-6.
