TRIO enjoys working with teachers learning how to program using the new English Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum. We are finding that the greatest challenge is not looking at each outcome and selecting content. The challenge is to look at the content we are expected to teach and then plan the explicit steps or strategies needed for the teaching and learning. As a result of our experiences we have compiled a set of programming proformas for each stage in order to assist teachers in the discussion around being systematic and explicit.
