Poetry is fun. Short texts packed with interest and meaning, engage students as readers. Poems can be funny, sad or musical and speak to students. In this course we unpack how to approach the teaching of poetry. The rationale for this course comes from the work of writers like Libby Hathorn and Libby Gleason who encourage students to read widely and play with language. The references in the course come from the Australian Curriculum and the NSW English syllabus K-6.
This course is the first in the series Poetry is fun. All courses stand alone and can be completed separately.
